Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Swap DTT auto to a 5 spd

I am going to swap the transmission in my dads 97 3500 2 wheel drive auto to a 5 speed. I need a complete list of all the parts to do this. The trans in his truck now is a DTT with the 89 converter that works great but he has the urge to row gears. Anybody in the need of a low mileage DTT trans that will fit a 97 2 wheel drive let me know. Also does anybody know if a 6 speed will go into a 12 valve & still have a speedometer. I understand that the 6 speed does not have a speedo pickup in it. Thanks for all replies.

I think your trans is a 47rh my dads is a 47re so i dont think it would work.

It's possible to make the RE work inplace of an RH just have to add the electrical stuff for the transmission to make it work. I threw the idea around of getting a transmission outta a junkyard before I put the Blumenthal transmission in.

Looks like you have a 4x4 & this one is a 2 wheel drive so the trans tailshaft & output would need to be changed. Im not sure if the overdrive would work either. It would be easier if you found a 4x4 trans or have yours built. The DTT is still available pm me if interested.
