Swap Laramie dash trim?

Anybody with a Laramie that would like to swap the silver dash trim (bezel around the radio, etc. ) for the black textured SLT trim? (I'm assuming they're interchangeable. )



My wife really (no REALLY) likes the silver dash trim. Doesn't matter a whole bunch to me.



But before I track down a part number and order one, thought I'd check if anyone is looking to swap (bezels, not wives )

I swapped old Laramie (wood grain) for new Laramie (silver) dash panel and 4 door panels.



The silver dash piece alone is available form dodge for a little over $100, trading would obviously be cheaper but you've always got that option- money well spent for a happy wife.

I got the part number for the silver dash bezel from Mopar.



PN: 5GV531L5AC

Cost: ~ $274. 00-----OUCH!



I will be searching the salvage yards for mine, because I can do a better bomb for that price!

are the aftermarket dash bezels any good? i. e. Eurodash etc.

I haven't looked, but I would think there would be a Laramie 1500 somewhere in a junk yard.

I hope there is, but I have just not had any luck so far. Most of the salvage yards here in Nashville, do not have any Dodge trucks.

Maybe look at using the trim from the "Sport". It has a silver / carbon fiber type look to it. This is also assuming the 05' looks like the 06'. I have an 06' and have not seen an 05' sport. I know the dash shape is a little different in some places, but other than that who knows. Anyway, for what ever thats worth.
