Swapping starters between Gen 1 and Gen III Dodge models...

I am putting in a 4BT with a Gen III (I think_ -- '04 flywheel housing with a NV5600) into an old Land Cruiser... Problem is, the starter of the Gen III is huge and sticks out width-wise into the frame. It will fit if I notch the frame. But I don't want to...

Anyone know if a Gen 1 starter will fit on a later Dodge. . Or what the spacer situation would be? Here are photos. The one with the Bronze starter is my truck and the position of the motor...

here was the conclusion to this, if it helps anyone. Basically, no options, had to trim frame...

plated the inside. But I also mounted the motor mounts there, so not totally overkill for no reason. .
