Electronic Engine in Repower?

Yes I like crew cabs, but there is something about a real truck (read standard cab longbed) that is quite appealing to me. You know, before trucks were people movers with beds. The truck I can't really see a use for is a club cab, but that may just be me  :-laf . Hopefully you are making a crew dually?

You must not have ever owned a long bed ext cab. It is one of the best rigs for towing I have found. Short enough to still be reasonable to turn around, yet it gives you the ability to tilt the seat back if you need a break on the road. Long before yuppies and horse hags took the crew cab trend to the supermarket, I had them. The long wheelbase makes for a very stable tow rig, not to mention allows for a reasonable lift kit or over drive unit without driveline angle issues.

Standard cabs are great for highschool kids, reduces their insurance rates, so long as they aren't stupid and put people in the bed area. My first two cars were standard cab pickups, but then I lived on a a farm growing up. I hated the non tilt ability of the seats, even though they reclined. Drive in movies were great if it was good weather in the bed, but sitting in the cab was uncomfortable.

My '96 ext cab's bvack seat is usually flipped up to keep my tools inside and out of sight of the growing number of thiefs each day. The fugly exterior keeps them from bothering to look inside under the blanket.

I know the wheelbase is good for towing, but I don't have anywhere to park a truck longer than what I have now. I generally like things that are a step outside of the norm, so a standard cab is it for me. Besides, I drove my dads 92 Ford ex-cab longbed for a week to see if I wanted to buy it. It was a bit too long to park in these tiny parking lots we have around here. Of course, if'n I could get my hands on a 4x4 shortbed crew that was made into a dually I'd find a place to put it parking be damned.
