Sweet Sounds

I heard a massive sound coming up the road yesterday. Ran to see what it was--sounded suspiciously like a 5. 9 CTD---with big pipes.



Turned out to be an old military truck with a stove-pipe sized straight exhaust.



He had her spooled-up and singing a tune!



Must have been 10 liters or so---I want one!

might have been an old cummins v8 or a 8v92 detroit. man, i love the sound of the big 2cycle detroits. at school we had an electronic ddec 6v92 in the dyno stall. when we loaded 'er up to 300 hp or so, that turbo was singing , and when at top idle and no load the blower was screaming. sweet sweet sound. .

Nawp, I know my sounds. It was a 6-banger. He's a local who delivers water to whoever needs it, so I'll find out exactly what's in it.



My neighbor (who was having water delivered) talked about how it sounded--and he's DEEF! "Deef" is when everyone has to holler to talk to you.
