That's what I've had in mind to do too, Mike.

Hey, I see your HP number is has gone up. Did you change injectors? C'mon, fill us in... . :D

Well I did it, swiss cheesed my air box with 24 one inch holes and picked up an extra 2 pounds of boost. The boost went from 17. 5 max and now tops out at 19. 5. The pump is only turned up one flat. I guess that means I picked up a couple of HP?

air induction

 On the drivers side radiator core support ther is a 3x2 inch square hole that I used to direct air to the cheesebox airbox. I uses that flex alum dryer hose and a plastic adapter to the hole and let the air dump in front of the air box so any water could drop out the bottom. It has helped the gas temp, but I get so much boost that I can't say that has increased as I max out my 30 lb. guage easily. Runs cooler and I did check to see if the K$N was letting any dirt by, Not a bit. This truck will haul a cord and a half like it doesn't know it's suffiently loaded. I do baby her though. Woods dry so I guess it's not that heavy. Airbags help tremendlessy. Tim:) :) :)

I went a step further in the attemp for a cool air charge. I put eight 1" holes behind the headlight bezel with a hole saw. If you remove the headlight assembly that is in front of the filter housing you can also do this. I don't know if it is worth while, but after looking at it I think that there would be a high pressure area behind the headlight. Another option for us at the drag strip would be to completly remove the headlight assembly, this leaves about a 4" hole directly in front of the "swiss cheese" airbox. :)

More Air

Has anyone else take their air box completly out???

I have and it made a sound and seat of the pants difference.

I didn't have guages at that time so no idea on the #s but it feels and sounds stronger. I also have 3 2 1/2" holes in the radiator support around the headlight bucket so that helps some too.

Another option might be to take the headling trim ring off??

You get lots of comments, but I " think" I can hear a little more turbo, and it adds to the trucks character.

The filter does pick up a whole lot of debris, grasshopers, bugs leaves, moths ,ect from being more exposed. But it works for me. I think I will invest in a pre filter or just hang a screen off of the radiator support to cut down on the trash.

EOliver I like that idea!!

Have a Great Day
