The fan switch for the heater & a/c is bad on the 1st and 2nd position. It does work on the 3rd and 4th. Is it the switch? Or something else.

I had to replace the resistor in the blower box to get mine working normaly. easy fix, three or four screws and $35. 00 for the resistor from Dodge.

Well I pulled out the switch. I took a jumper wire and started messing around. I was able to get the fan to run slow. Is it the switch for sure? I doubt its the resistor. But who knows with this mess of wires.

Sounds like the switch but if I recall it right it should be visibly evident if something's wrong with it. The switch is a pretty low tech device.

Jeff, my fan switch crapped a few years ago. While it quit working on the heat side it still worked on the AC side. I found out that I could still get cab heat (required in our MN winters) by switching the fan to the AC side and turning the temp knob to the hot side.

If your fan works on the AC settings it is probably the switch. If you order the switch you need to get the one specific to the diesel. Which i think was cheaper than the gas.
