I've got a small cubby hole to the left of my (non-working) cup holder on my dash. Has anyone ever made a small plate to go in there to hold a switch or two? I've got some back up lights on my reciever hitch that I operate by a switch slid in between my seats (not the best place for it! ).

I'd like to make a little panel for the switch and maybe one more if I need it. I have a older buddy who is pretty sure he can do it, but if any one has any advice on it I'd really appreciate it.

If you take off the dash trim that goes around all the controls, the cluster, and the stereo, you'll be able to remove the cubby hole. Go to a plastic supply store and get some black textured plastic sheet, and cut a piece big enough to fit the hole. Voila.

I put my fuel pressure gauge there, I took a piece of plexiglass, painted it flat black and glued it in with contact cement.

I used the cubby hole for a combo EGT/boost gauge and the hole where the stock cup spiller was for a switch panel. Cups and other junk go in a "Cup Smoothy" from Geno's Garage. The plastic I used was some ABS plastic I got from a plastic shop. It's black with a crinkle finish. Looks good and if I want to make anything else from that kind of plastic regular ABS pipe glue will work.
