Those radios/siren are being held up by two 1. 5" wide strips of Aluminum that I bent and fastened to the front frame and the back frame of the dash. If you pull out the cubby, you'll see what I mean. If one were to use steel, it would be really rigid. Right now my radios move a little bit, but that's because of the Aluminum. I have access to alot of it here at work. I then attached my top braket to the ones in the dash and made two more aluminum supports and screwed them into the sides of the remaining equipment. They aren't going anywhere. If you are gonna do something like this, check to make sure your shift pattern keeps clear of the equipment. Also, make sure that you don't bump your "Super Buddy" mug into the siren while the lady in front of you is trying to place an order in the drive through.![]()
Truckie, If you have a 6sp or a short-throw 5sp, this setup will work really slick. Other than that, it's a pretty straightforward install. Just pull out the Cubby and use your imagination.
