Thanks guys... I really want the 6spd so that's why I was going to go with the ETH. By the feeling of this thread it sounds like I should go with the ETC. Can you still get the 6spd with the ETC?

Okay,I've gotta ask the question... .
Are you more interseted in drag racing(aka stoplite racing) or constant trailer towing?

If you want the fastest stoplite-to-stoplite truck, stick with the 5spd. If your constantly towing, then get a 6spd.
Reason I say this... I had a '99 ETC 5spd,and traded it for a '00 ETC 6spd. Both identical trucks, the 5spd is much faster with it's odd wide gear ratios, compared to the smaller gear ratios of the 6spd. I really wanted 6spd too,and now that I have it,I'm a little dissapointed in the stoplite-to-stoplite aspect. But for cruising and hillclimbing,I love it.

I have DD stage II injectors in the truck and also have a 10 level PM3 (standard version) sitting on the kitchen table.
More than enough power. As soon as I get a new clutch in (early next month),I'll let you know what it is.

I am running the ez with DDIII injectors in my ETH/DEE it really gets with it I am putting in the Mcleod clutch this weekend also the HX40 my cluth absolutly will not do can't use any power in 4th thru 6th I know this truck will fly with the new clutch but as for the Power edge or any of those style boxes I guess we need to wait till more development is done the ETH won't react to those boxes like the ETC does but if your going to pull get the 6 speed and if you plan on doing injectors and a feuling box then plan on getting a clutch in fact when you order the injectors and the box just order the clutch too and get it over with

I agree with wiz1 reguarding the ETH/DEE clutch -- it is whimpy. If you're going to add any additional power at all, it should be replaced. Look at Joe Donnelly's organic Sachs unit. I'm convinced it will hold for most BOMB'd ETHs without the problems with sold hubs associated with dual disk types, or the chatter of the ceramic puck types.

Mike, well I care about both of them, but I'm more concerned about the spread between 3 & 4 gear. How do you like the PM3 box? Comp or normal?

I've had this PM3 box sitting on my kitchen table for over a month now, haven't installed it yet. It is the 'normal' version.
Reason I haven't installed it,is because a couple of months ago I borrowed a Blue Box to run on the dyno with my DD II injectors. I had the box set at 50% and the power was awesome, but it done burned up my clutch! I almost installed the PM3 yesterday, but I'd only be abe to use levels 1 and 2 before the clutch lets go again. Clutch is starting to chatter right now with just my stage II injectors.

I wasn't too crazy about the spreads in the gears either when I had a 5spd,but after owning a 6spd for a year now,I'd prefer to 'race' around in a 5spd.
