Oil drain plug size??

Although it will be a while I will prolly get the 3500 srw. Is there a difference in the carrying capacity? So far my 2500 with the camper package has done me fine.

From my limited experience with my truck in the snow, the rear wheels don't hook up very good at all. But, when you go 4x4 the front hooks up great and eliminates the loose rear end. I would think it would be the same on a dually, 4x4 working great and 2x4 not great at all. Just my opinions, I would say if you will be towing that fifth regularly, then get the dually and don't worry about the snow.

For the benefit of those who don't frequent the Towing and Hauling forum, this same question was asked by the same individual and is being discussed there.

Hey Okie Go,

No camper package on the '03 2500, got to get the 3500 to get the overload springs. Apparently neither vehicle has the rear stabilizer, must not need it with the 3 inch longer springs and new frame. Otherwise everything is the same on both trucks, absent the 11. 5 inch rear end (3500 and HO diesel w/ 6 spd have it, otherwise you get a 10. 5 inch rear end. )

One post by a '03 2500 owner said when he tows his big trailer (usually carries a tractor or two Jeeps) he gets 6 to 8 inch bed drop. This information made me opt for the 3500 with the overload springs (only $600 more for the big boy. ) Never seen the '03 2500 bed drop in person, but my neighbor has a '02 2500 with Camper Special (i. e. the overload springs) and it tows his 22ft Boston Whaler fine with no drop. I didn't won't to risk the saggy rear end on the new 2500's. That saggy rear end means the suspension is alot closer to bottoming out and it is not good to be bouncing off the bump stops while towing a big load! The '03 2500 will tow bunches but wish they still offered the camper package, course with the $600 price difference between the 2500 and 3500... Just hope the insurance on the 3500 doesn't eat me alive.
