Made the first pull with the DDII's and the DD TTPM and all I can say is HOLY SHI* what a differance!! This thing pulls like a Raped Ape... 30+psi boost and and EGT's never over 1200* pulling 16,500 lbs. Gross Combined Weight... 65* outside air and some really tough grades... BUT... at around 28*boost and 5th gear and 75 mph it gets a strange bump/hump that feels almost like you are going over the seam on a concrete highway. The rate is about twice per second (2Hz), and dissapears when you back off a little. I expected a slipping clutch to act like a... slipping clutch and not intermittent slip and grab feeling. Anyone had this experiance with a clutch or are there any other thoughts. I did a search and saw a thread on the "Dreaded Shudder" but it doesn't feel like that.

Oh... I went around a new Dura-Max loaded about the same way up a nasty grade about 80 mph... My wife said I was evil at heart!!!

Thanks, Paul...

plongson,

The symptom that you describe is not typical of a slipping clutch. A slipping clutch will usually show up as the engine RPM increasing but no increase in vehicle speed. What yo describe sounds like the dampening springs in the clutch disk bottoming out.
