syn. fluids

Hi guys, could someone give me some advice on syn. fluids?

What's the best for an old '95, 5spd. ,3:54 rear, 252,000 dually?

Also, if you could buy only one aftermarket device to gain more power and fuel mileage, what would it be? MY whole outfit is stock.

I've had it about a year, never thought I own a diesel, but I love it. Thanks much..... Kirk

Sorry, I'am not that knowledgeable about the 12 valve, you will probably get better results posting in that forum.

Kirk, I use Mobil 1 synthetics throughout my truck, where Mobil does not make what I need I use Valvoline as they cover the rest of it. You can get the Mobil just about anywhere and I believe it to be as good as anything else out there. Lots of the guys here use and believe in Amsoil, it works well for them too.



For a power mod I would call Piers, or Diesel Dynamics. They can talk to you about what you do with your truck and what you wnat to get out of it. This will help you make the right choice, by being educated. Hope this helps.

Just a footnote - if you want Mobil synthetic in the engine, the product name is "Delvac 1" (Mobil's heavy duty diesel oil), not to be confused with "Mobil 1" (Mobil's gasoline and light duty diesel oil). Do NOT use "Mobil 1" in your engine!!!
