My 99 24 v now has 100000 miles. it was broke in on dino oil and has used Delvac 1 5 / 40 syn ever since. BUT with the price of oil products up and my limited driving of the outfit I am considering changing back to dino oil( Delo400 LE diesel 15/40 w) available at Cosco for much less than Delvac 1 which is excellent oil but way expensive. Please give me your best thoughts on this so I can decide. Thanks

I suppose it depends on where you live. I live a relatively cold part of the country. I like the fact that synths. are better for cold starts.

I only change my oil twice a year, so the price difference doesn't have that great an impact.

I use Amsoil 15-40 synthetic and only put only 6000 on it a year, but it's mostly short driving. Still, I only change it once a year and change the oil filter twice----once in January and once at the end of June.
