I have been reading the various posts on synthetic oils and have been thinking about converting over. If you use synthetic oil for awhile and then decide to go back to regular oil, is there a problem? Can you go back and forth between the two oils without a hassle or is it one or the other? Any advise would be appreciated, thanks.

Absolutely no issues switching between the two. In cold climates it's common to switch to synthetic in the winter and back to petro oil in the warm months.

That said, I like sticking with one oil as it makes sampling and baseline analysis easier to interpret.

In my previous CTD, a 1998. 5 24 valve, I used Shell Rot. T from new until approx. 125k miles. No oil consumption.

I switched to Shell Rot. T synthetic and it started using oil at 1 qt. /2000k. I switched back to reg. oil and the consumption stopped. Just my opinion and experience.
