Synthetic blend oils .... Make your own?

I use Delo 15-40 in my 97, but in the cold Kansas winter months like to use PB2000 because it is supposed to flow betteron a cold start. Was wondering: Could you use say 9 qts of Delo & add 2 or 3 qts. of Amsoil? It's supposed to be compatible with other oils. At least this way you would know what the percentage of synthetics blend is. And for those of us who still like to change the oil & filter at 5,000 miles, we could still afford to do so... ... ... amsoilman could answer this question better. But if it was me I'd mix some Chevron synthetic with your Chevron Delo if Chevron has synthetic. I'm sure amsoilman will know if his oil will mix with Delo. Valvoline makes a mixture, but It's probly pricey and it only comes in one proportion. If you mix your own you can figure out the temps, and blend to your own specs. The best thing is to run synthetic all the time. But who lives in a perfect world! Regards, bilford.

I think that AMSIOL 15-40 Heavy duty 100% synthetic oil is only about $45 for a complete oil change. $60 for Mobile Delvec 1 in 0-40 or 10-40 ( dont have the spec sheet in front of me)and about $60 for AMSoil 2000 in 0-30 weight. These will all go 7500 miles between changes. A $30k truck deserves a good oil.

$60!? I just ordered 3 gal. of amsoil 5w-30 for $75!.
And I still need a filter!
Is the 5w-30 more or can I get it some other place.
