Synthetic or regular oil

I would like to say I have never had an oil related problem! But I still switched to Amsoil!
Yes, the benefits are small, but I like to run the best. It will pay for itself.
Why else is every major oil company making one now?
The best reason to use Amsoil? NO Middle East crude is used. Help America get off the Arab oil addiction!
If you insist on petro, I still would run it 5000, to 7500 miles. I run the Amsoil 30,000,no by-pass.

To add my $. 02. Having purchased a VW Turbo Diesel Injection Jetta and having just had the first free 5k service. The VW came from the factory with Castrol Syntec in it and the dealer put Syntec back in. I questioned the use of the synthetic oil but was told that they have not had a problem with rings seating etc. So I will continue to use a synthetic oil in the VW and switch to synthetic in my Cummins along with a bypass filter setup which is already installed.
