Wasn’t $208 for just coolant. That was entire bill . Total bill probably was $280 ish . Reason I can’t give absolute numbers is my copy doesn’t have numbers. The copy I signed had The numbers only got to see it for a moment. Gal at counter said I get a copy so I quit reading the original. My best recollection was 2.5 gal coolant $ ? 1 hr labor neighborhood of just over $100 . The pump was $80 something.
Apparently there’s no clean way to drain coolant?
Lastly after cleaning up the antifreeze that was all over the underside of engine compartment it appears that things are ok , no leaks , hallelujah

The recall water pump is not $80,not that it matters. If the dealers that are charging 2.5 gallons of coolant on all the recalls get an audit they will be returning some $ to FCA.

Got mine done today. I received a replacement Concentric with the weep hole. No coolant listed on my copy. The T79 recall wasn’t addressed. My copy stated only 2017 models repairable at this time. It doesn’t bother me. The last 3 trucks I bought new could be put in any gear you wanted without even having the key. The dealer treated me very well. We’re expecting another nor’easter tonight with 12-18 inches of snow. I mentioned I plow and please don’t start the job if it couldn’t be completed by 5PM. The service writer promised me the truck by 1PM and called at 10:30to tell me it was done. Clean under hood and no low coolant light. Great service.

Had a 7AM appointment this morning. Told the first guy I was there for T-51 recall. He asked who setup appointment and pumps we're out of stock. Joe showed up and I said the other guy said they were out of pumps. Joe said no we have one for your truck. Get the rental car and drive the 15 miles home. Half hour later they call and Joe says, yes your truck needs a new pump, however we are our of them. Next week more are suppose to be received. Drats

"Drats" ??? WTF I would be raising holy hell !!!

I guess a person should say "show me the pump" !

Got my waterpump done today. Dropped it off at 11am drove out at 1pm .Could not ask for better service don't know if my pump was bad just happy I got a new one.Only thing they said was I was lucky last one in Halifax now on back order.

Called to get mine scheduled. Service guy said just a minute let me check stock. Came back said they just used the last one. So he scheduled me for next Wednesday. I will call to confirm Tuesday and have him write my name all over it!!!

I will also tell him I want a gallon to top off later if needed. Will see on that one.

I asked Joe about some fluid to top off later as I had read here about problems. He said that they have not had anyone have to come back! SnoKing

Got my water pump replaced yesterday. Dropped it off at 8:45 AM and they called me at 11:30 AM saying it was ready.
Glad that's been completed and hope the transmission recall parts will be ready soon.

Well, I spoke too soon. I’ve got a small coolant leak. 1/2 gallon in 400 miles. It’s not the pump. It’s on the pass side and dripping onto the frame , then the crossmember I’m going to swing by the dealer tomorrow morning and see what they’ve got to say. This could go either way.

Isn't the water pump on the passenger side? Look again.

I said it’s not the pump for a reason. The block is dry. The pump is dry. It’s something that was disturbed in order to get to the pump.

My mistake. I thought you had posted that you were waiting to get the recall done. Yeah they knocked something loose or didn't secure something well.

Under the heading of “You can’t make this stuff up” it turns out the seam on the plastic fill tank is cracked. It sprays forward and down under pressurization. It was tight and dry when I brought it in but the service manager denies it’s their fault. I understand things happen. I wrenched for too long not to realize that. But it didn’t miraculously pop the seam on my way out of the dealership. Bumping the fill neck or tying the air box off to it while replacing the pump are 2 ways I can see stressing the tank neck. I’ll repair it myself and not darken their door again.

A hell of a coincidence. Tank is fine before service then leaks right after service completed. Guessing that manager is a Big believer in that sort of thing.
Another example of one bringing the vehicle to fix one defect and driving away with something else broken. I guess it was this guy that worked on your truck.

Sure wish they had some kind of coolant filter factory installed, so if tech used sand paper or even when cleaning with Scotch Bright type pads if some curd falls in, it will say in circulation (banging into radiator tubes each trip around) for 10 years???
