I just got the part today to stop the t-case shifter from buzzing. I searched back and found the part number in the forums, it's 869770.

So does this look like the right part to you? Now that I have this thing, where in the heck does it go???

I would say that spring washer needs to go on the bolt/shaft where your t-case shifter pivots, it would then take up any slop...

If you are sure were the buzzing is comming from great. Just somthing else for you to look out thou. My tcase shifter started buzzing too but it was from the rubber knob separating from the insert . I installed an 8ball handle from oreilly's for $12 or something. Just something else to look at.

I thought Bushwhacker said before that it was a U-shaped plastic piece that his brother got that fixed the buzzing. That's all i remember about that post.

Ok, who is calling who a rubber knob..... ;);) I told you guys to watch your language in here... all these virgins'll run for the hills...

Ok, the part that my brother got WAS a hairpin shaped hard plastic thing. It is about 1" long or so, and it fits over one of the "gates" on the shifter bracket. If you look real close under there you'll see that the "plate" from the shift lever rides/rubs against one of the metal gates. It can be a bit tough to see at first but unless it's fallen off you'll find it.

That part fixed his rattle immediately.

They convex spring washer you have shown is another of the "anti-rattle" components, if you can call them that. Do it too since you've got it...

Hey are you trying to get the shifter to stop making that annoying noise when you are driving? If you are you dont have to buy all these little parts. You could go buy a new shifter knob, or you can just do what i do. Just take your pair of leather work gloves that you are suppose to have in your truck at all times,LOL, and just slip them over it problem solved. Plus this is a great way to keep a pair of gloves from getting lost in the truck. Because you will know if they are missing trust me.

I have the same noise that he is talking about and I replaced the stock shifter knob because other people told me that would fix the proplem and I still have the noise so you be the judge of that.

I'm hoping/expecting to hear back from my brother today or tomorrow with the part number and the cost.

He said he'd go thru his bills/invoices for me.

Pastor Bob... :D

WASHER-FL #00120395

ONE PLAIN COTTER PIN NO PART #

Oh and my brother says small fingers will help with some of this. . ;)

Pastor Bob.

Does anyone know the type of flatwasher that is? I got the bushing and spring washer, but the dealership said they don't have any of the flat washer.

CB,

Here's a picture of what it should all look like when set-up properly... . on a manual anyway. (never mind the 6 spped)

There are two nylon anti rattle pieces... one is the round bushing that your t-case shifter bolts to, the other is the long channel bushing that's a little tricky to install... you need to take the whole assembly apart.

Here's a picture & they are both visible in the picture... . it's real simple once you get it apart. #ad

Thanks. Well, then Bushwakr posted the wrong part numbers, because the parts I got for those three part numbers is a small bushing, a spring washer, and a flat washer...

Anyone know the correct part numbers?

CB,

I think the parts Bob posted were likely for the shift rod bushings which is a whole nother rattly part!

Where the shift rod goes through the the shifter & where it goes through the lever on your transfercase there should be rubber bushings that prevent metal to metal vibration. Then the flat washer, spring washer & cotter pin hold it all together.

They are in that picture too but you can't see them unless you disconnect the rod from the shifter.

You need to find a parts manual & look at an exploded view... someone must have that picture they can scan & post... no?

CB,

If you take off your T-case shift knob, then go under your truck & unbolt the three bolts that hold the shift linkage to the transmission & pull the cotter pin out at your transfer case you'll be able to remove that whole unit & get a good look at it.

It will make it 500% easier to repair once it's on your work bench & your truck will still be fully mobile while you repair the linkage, just a little trickier to get into 4WD till you put it all back!
