***t is a bad word?

Why when the word ***t is ***ted, it doesn't ***t without asterisks? If we're worried about the "masked profanity", what about the little red dude avatar that has a bunch of *&%$#@% running above his head?

EDIT: I had to hit EDIT P O S T so we all could see the word to which I was referring.
