t-rex engeneering leveling kits

i just saw the complete system, and man it looks sweet!!! I have to have one!! it may be a few months :{ but i will have one. does any body on here have the complete system? if they do, do u like it, was it worth the $$, and in all reality how much better is it?

Greg, I know you and others are quite excited with your new t-rex systems. For those of us who don't live near any desert or really have anywhere to off-road our trucks, would you still recommend a t-rex system? I'd like to improve my on road ride, the roads up here in Cleveland are totally potholed and rough.



How much is the full system?



How much would a typical shop charge to install this system?



I'd also like to install possibly those new weld wheels with the 35" toyos. What type of suspension work is required to safely clear these with no rubbing? 2" level kit? Full susp kit/lift?

For those who hardly see any dirt, the T-Rex Bilstien system is a great package. The system that has the Fox shocks is a full on " Ultimate" off road system. The on road handling is amazing. I can slide my truck through corners like a rallye car. The Bilstiens are even better on road and can handle some serious off road too. They just wont handle it for as long as the Fox. Heat is a killer to shock performance. Heat is created by the shock oil passing through the piston. As you go faster off road and take larger hits the shaft speed increases. The result is hot oil, and a slight amount of shock fade. So, the fox has more shock oil and resists fade more than the Bilstien.



As for the system you need, Call the suspension guru and tell him how you drive your truck, what you use it for, and ask Kent what he thinks. He will give you a price, and tell you what you can expect to pay for installation. 760-749-8687



Now to clear the tires. You could probably clear them with just a 2"spacer. I perfer replacing springs and shocks. Complete system is the only way to go... .

2500 bux plus installation is a lot different than 500 and something I can install myself... I'm just not convinced I need the whole setup. I'm sure it's nice. .

I just returned from a elk hunting trip an put close to 700 miles off road over a 2 week period. Rock Paths and running over smooth river rocks up to the size of basketballs, ranch and mountian trails that will put you against the roof at under 5 mph. This is with 20 psi in the 35"s. I know the T-REX is race system, but the this dodge bucks like a bronco and any speed and I would like to know If any one has experence with the t-rex in these conditions.



PS I figured out why people are complaning of the seats, they a terrible , there a 2 bar under the custion that put pressure on my siatic nerve ( runs from your but cheeks all the way down your leg) and these bars just bang away at them. I am a big guy but that a poor design.

I put my truck through the rigors of mountain trails and desert washes daily. My truck doesn't buck a bit. Just floats in a fluffy kind of way. It is not uncommon to be off the ground every minute or two. I can power through the rocks at high speed and not even hint of bucking.

Love the pic, I'm rubbing my nickels together in and hope to have a t-rex soon. Have you seen a great improvement at low speeds. The last two days of the hunt I borrowed a 1/2 ton chevy to smooth the ride and ease the pains running down my legs(almost all the newer ranch trucks there were chevys, I didn't see any that were out of warranty through, maybe a sign?).

I like the rush that speed provides, but spend most of my rough road time at lower speeds. The chevy was short on ground clearance but soaked up the bumps that bouncing us out of our seats, and I have to say it, mad e the last couple days much more pleseant.

Forgive my spelling, I was born with a spell checker and never got past the dependancy.

I would say it is vastly improved over stock, even in the slow and go. I would say that you could go much faster though, than you would ever imagine. Believe me when I say, I haven't heard any complaints about the T-Rex yet!!!

I would have to disagree on the low speed ride, I think it made zero difference below 10 mph, starting to improve by 15 to 20 and really working well around 25 mph. The day before I installed my system I drove one extremely rough road, basically 4" to 6" rocks everywhere, as fast as I felt I could without breaking something, it was about 10 to 15 mph and pounding the crap out of everything. The next day after the install I drove the same road again and basically the same thing, in the sections were I was going 25 before I could go a lot faster but the slow sections were still brutal and for the most part the same speed. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the system, it makes getting to those places much better but it does have limitations.

When I am talking low speed I meant 15-25 mph. I drive through the real rough stuff like you described at speeds in the 35-55 mph range. I do think it is a little better at a crawl just because of the amount of useable travel now. I guess that is what makes us different, opinions...

Installed the complete T-Rex system on my 2nd Gen last fall & have done my best to wear it out elk hunting, rock-crawling, and flying across pastures, forest service roads etc. since. 35K hard miles later I have no complaints whatsoever & am convinced that this product is worth 1/2 again what I spent.
