I got the straps with mine, put them on and drove it. I noticed not much articulation, like the shock was to short. I don't plan on jumping the truck everyday so I took them off.

Don't know about the rubber boots.

I think the shocks are pre charged, try to get them in with out letting out the charge, good luck. I let out whatever was in them to install them. The bought a nitrogen regulator and rented a nitrogen bottle. Made a hose and filled my shocks myself. I found ONE place in town that would do it. They wanted 80 bucks to fill 4 shocks! I got the parts for 84 bucks and I still have everything.

Dane, wish I'd read that along time ago. I've seen the skyjacker D25's and wasn't too impressed. Looked like a coat hanger for the front springs. I didn't want a Cadillac ride, just a halfton truck ride. I did put in 200 psi of nitrogen tonight so I'll see how it does on the highway this weekend.

Marek, which T-Rex do you have?

I was able to compress one of the rear shocks by hand (barely!) Probably would be a bear trying to install under pressure. Did you put in 200 lbs? Have you tried less or more? Thanks.

I put in 200lbs. Haven't run the truck down the highway yet, I don't on a daily basis. I'll try it this weekend. In town the ride is better, I can't belive how fast I can corner now.

From Kent.

"You can get universal rubber booties from most off-road shops. Generally we don't like them much because they hold moisture and deteriorate over time.

As for limit straps - we've been having some issues with the Dodge design on several model years. Seems Dodge made some changes on their control arm bracket mounts without notifying us (joke). Anyway, until we get a new, universal design, we're not going to include limit straps with our 2nd Gen. systems. Essentially, you don't need them unless you're going to fly your

truck. Also, we get endless questions about how much articulation and stretch etc - stuff we've figured out but customers don't understand, so we've simply stopped including them with our systems.

The 7100's are essentially a 200 psi shock. You can go up to 250 or down to 180. I like 250 on all four corners. Doesn't make a massive difference, but you can feel it if you're in tune with the truck. "

I followed up with a call and he is sending me the straps. If you are ordering, you should clarify if you need/want the straps and whether or not their current mounting design will work with your specific truck. (Has to do with a change up in the control arm mount shape, rounded vs square, I believe)

He explained about bump (up) and droop (down), noting that there are roughly 4 inches of droop in the Bilstein T-Rex setup. Essentially, you need a good amout of "hang time" to allow the shock to bleed off and hit the stops, thus not requiring most of us to need these straps.

Took the truck down the highway today. Not the really bad one, but the 41. Ride is better with the nitrogen. Corners great. I took the speed mounds at 25mph today and all I can say is wow! I used to crawl over these, idiling in 2nd gear. These speed bumps are about 6ft deep and about 10 inches tall.

Back to back about 3ft between them. The ride is definetly better with the 200psi nitrogen, I think after this weekend I will go higher and see how that feels.

Took the truck down the 99 this weekend, truck is WAY better! My wife is finally happy!:D So I'm happy. This stuff works. Thanks Kent.
