I am planning to fix the KDP this week end. Reading the instruction on the TST kit, I see that I should check the 5 capscrews that hold the gear cover housing to the engine. But two of the capscrews are behind the cam gear and may require barring enjine to access them. I don't have a barring tool, is there another way to rotate the engine to check the two capsrews?

Use one of the bolts on the crank damper. Helps alot if you can get a rachet on it. Every time I've tried to use the alternator method the belt has slipped - even a brand spankin' new one.

Watch your knuckles. :D

I tabbed the dowel pin this past weekend. I turned the engine a bit by using the bolts on the damper, it worked great. The pin was about 1/32 out and when I tapped it back in, it went in very easy. The job was not hard and if you take your time, it goes easy. I was concerned about putting the crank seal on, but with all of the good advice on the TDR, I was able to get that on without a problem. You do need a second set of hands to get the fan and fan cover out.

Thank for the help guys! :)
