replaced the front seal a couple days ago... the tach will sometimes go crazy above 1700rpms. i'm guessing that the tach sensor wasn't installed perfect... what's the measurement for the right placement of the sensor off the balancer?

98rammer,

. 049" to . 051" & use a non-magnetic feeler gauge. (be sure the sensor is not near either of the notches on the vibration damper) Torque is 18ft/lbs. Clean electrical connections w/electrical cleaner and put some dielectric grease on connector pins.
