I was wondering if anyone has experienced tach problems. My tach jumps all over the place above 2100 rpm. I also was wondering where the computer gets its signal that it supplies to the tach. The reason I ask is my cruise control kicks out when the tach jumps so I assume the computer is getting an intermittent spike and sending that signal to the tach and killing the cruise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a sensor located just above the balancer to the left of the crank centerline (looking at the motor). There is a splice connection where the wire drops down by the front valve cover. These have been known to cause problems. Before you spend any money you might try to clean this connector and check to be sure it is tight.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was in the process of moving. What I found out by error was the crank position sensor was going bad. It left me high and dry in Arkansas. Thanks for the info.
