All, Had my 06 in sig in to the Dealer on Wed. Tach had been erratic for months. There is a SW flash that was done [my cost 47.50] that seems to have rectified the issue. Why FCA would not cover this malfunction is interesting, but glad it is fixed.

Had N62 recall checked, no action. For the S43 recall there are no Passenger side airbags inflators in stock, and no forecast for them either... Great....

It is at least 7 years out of warranty. I looked at the TSB list and I don't see anything that mentions a flash to fix the tach. More than likely the solder joints are starting to crack on the connectors. See my other post this morning for info on how to repair.

Thanks Sag2, I understand about the warranty. It worked better for 2 days, noticed this AM at startup was 500 rpm instead of ~ 750. I have understood usual fix is to replace the cluster?

Thanks, Luke

My tach has been erratic for a very long time. I installed one of those small digital displays that plug into the computer port. I thought it was the cold solder joint problem. Getting ready for cold weather, disconnect both batteries during cleaning of connections. Tach is now normal. Disconnecting batteries, pull instrument cluster, reheat solder joints would have had the same result...but much more work. Hope this helps some folks.
