Smarty is on the way!

Will a seal kit (p/n 3804899) for a 12v work on a 24v?

seems like a good product but have heard many horror stories about the cheap plastic housing failing and dumping misc. parts into intake!! (Tag 111)

I don't know where you have heard the horror stories and I would be interested in reading them myself...

I have been running a TAG-III for over 30k miles and have had no adverse results. I definitely think it makes the spool up a little smoother, especially if you have the factory intake.

I ran mine for:
8k with full factory intake, stock filter
10k with a K&N cone-filter, Outerwear and factory tube gutted and de-baffled
12k with K&N FIPK Intake system and Dry-Charger

No problems, no fuss. Have not seen any appreciable mileage increase, but have not seen a decrease in mpg either.

Temps on the EGT gauge seem slightly (50*?) lower with the TAG in place.

Just my $. 02 !

I've had mine in for 12K with the CBH, no problems. In fact, just changed my oil and while I had the tube off I checked it and all was fine, looked as clean and like new as they day I put it in. I does help to quiet things down, long trips towing the turbo whine was annoying. My EGT's went down a little with it also. Turbo seemed to spool better. I had some fuel mileage gain with the CBH and the install of an Amsoil Drop in, not sure how the TAG affected things as it went in when all the other stuff was being changed and I only did a 1 tank mileage test with each addition. My had calcs when I added the tag were an additional 1 mpg on the entire tankful but everyone here told me that I would have to do several tanks of fuel for that to really be etched in stone. Overall, I saw about 2-1/2 to 3 mpg increase with the CBH, TAG, Amsoil Drop-in, and air box mod.

BGlidewell,

Thanks - I have seen the thread before - I will go and look for it again.

If I recall though, I did not think it dealt with catastrophic failure of the housing? I know that the peak numbers on the dyno seemed to lose a little with the TAG vs no TAG...

Since I had it and I am not worried about a few peak horsepower, I figured that I would just keep mine in...

I will go search for the thread and see about the failures referred to above.
