TAG-II

We expect to have the TAG-II available to fit 94-2002 truck by June if all goes well. The New TAG-II is made of a single piece of CNC machined stainless steel with the honeycomb furnace brazed in place. Install ation will be very much like the current TAG with the extra length of the TAG-II protruding into the inlet hose.

Look for the TAG-II to be dynoed on the the 4-Wheeler magazines Baja Bomber project truck at May Madness.

We are still experimenting with versions to fit the 3rd gen trucks and will be doing this for some time yet.

Impact

Let's hope the upgrade has more of an impact than TAG I. Judging from the dyno report I saw a few messages back, there wasn't much change - not enough to make it worth spending a hundred bucks.

Car_nut57,

What if we have the regular TAG and want to upgade to the TAG II?
I am working on that. Right now I am thinking we may offer a return credit for the TAG to apply to the TAG-II, but I have not had a chance to work out any pricing or exchange details yet. Hopefully I will get something about the TAG-II up on the website in the next couple of weeks.

Here is a photo of the new TAG-II.

I'll take a run at it,

TAG I is shorter, fits in the mouth of the turbo.

TAG II is longer, long part goes into the hose.

TAG II has a much longer air straightening path

Should provide a pretty straight air flow to the compressor blades.

Yes, the TAG-II is longer than a TAG. The TAG-II contains two TAG units spaced some distance apart in a cylinder. I got my new one today from Dave, just waiting for the monsoon to end so I can install it. I'll post more pics on Monday.

Check it out, just ignore my dirty fingerprints all over it

TAG II

TAG I didn't do much for my truck, or at least that I could tell. Don't think TAG II will do much better. Therefore, I think I'll pass on this one. Not complaining, though, because the vender has offered to return the purchase price to anyone who isn't satisfied. I just don't do business that way. However, if the vender wants to send me a TAG II on a test basis, I'll test it for him and send it back if it doesn't perform as advertised.

HEMI,

I am going to have to machine the compressor inlet on my HX40 to enlarge it enough to accept the new stainless TAG-II. The compressor inlet on the 40 is a real rough casting, and the inlet is not round, kinda egg-shaped in places with flat spots. On the other hand, the TAG-II fits perfectly into the inlet of the stock HX35 sitting in my garage.

So for now, I am still running the prototype TAG-II

OK, I'm back from my towing trip and have more TAG-II results to post...

... All drivetrain fluids are sythetic, except for the Rotella T in the engine, and I have a 180° T-Stat. Turbo whine is virtually non-existent, even at 22psi boost.

i like my turbo whine, but i like the tag idea... :(:(
