I saw the TAG in "Diesel Power Magazine" website. Has anyone ever put one in a 1st Gen Truck  Does anyone know if there is one that will fit the H1C stock turbo. Thanks for any input :D In comparison what would someone recommed: SamRams intake tube, or a TAG. Thanks, Patrick.

Its that "thingee" that goes in your intake tube just before the turbo. It straightens the air out. Some here have report better throttle response, a little less smoke. It may reduce turbo whine. Works great for an everyday driver but not when your full throttle on a dyno. 3 models to choose from. Do a search for tag or t. a. g. under "titles only".

Doohhhh! As soon as I saw that, I remembered it from the magazine. Have never heard from anyone on this board using it, or else I just missed it.

I don't believe I want to spend $50-100. 00 on a tool that decreases emmissions AND quiets the turbo when I have tried for years to acomplish more smoke and MORE noise.

Tag

It's the last measure of a song we sing (Barbershop) It's popular with us to stand 'round singing tags.

Here is a pic of the TAG on my '92 Ram. Have some sum more tags I'll load into the puter and post fer y'all ;)

Patrick. This is all in fun, bro. You know that right? :)

The first is my favorite tag. The second is the 1990 rig my wife drives.

T in '90 truck

I took a trip up to manufacturer in Pasco, Wash. to have one installed a couple of years ago. It was easy. The narrow end that will fit into the '94 and up turbos is too large to fit in the early turbos, so just turn it around so the collar is firmly set against the turbo inlet, place the clamp around both the collar and the turbo inlet and tighten very firmly. This device does work well, especially when towing. Faster acceleration resonse, improved milage. I don't see any downside. I don't think the the TAG II or III will work on the first gen. trucks.

My truck: '90 2WD. Aftermarket intercooler, 1992 radiator, BD exhaust brake, 60lb valve springs, TAG, High Tech exhaust manifold and 14cm wategated housing for WHIC and HX35W Holset turbos, original injectors retipped by Goff Diesel Injection with Bosch 7762 industrial application nozzels and new ATS 48RE transmission with triple lock torque converter and uprated valve body.

I have a tag III in my 91. 5 it is a better fit than the tag I. I noticed less boost at highway speed and less smoke. I'm not to sure about a milage increase because i turned the fuel screw at the same time i installed the tag.

Tagging...

TAG, you're it :D I think you will catch up to me in My Truck :-laf Got six tags on my back window

Patrick.

TAG body spray might help you pick up more women in while in a 1st gen, but probably won't do anything for mileage. I guess it would help your emissions though. :D
