Tail gate cables

I just noticed that my tail gate cables are in need of replacement. Looked in LMC truck catalog, but they only have the ones for the 3rd gen(03/08) truck. Does any one know of an outlet [besides the dealer ] were I could purchase new ones??? Thanks.

I bought mine at the local Advance Auto Parts. I had them look up the # in the computer, but they had em hanging in the "Help" section. You could probably just take one of yours and match them up.

I replaced mine a few years back. as I recall the dealership wasn't that bad in the price. Something else I did when I got my new ones. I soaked them in a good metal protector for a week. My old ones rusted in 2 at the bend. -Jason

Geno's has the EZ Down, which is damper rod to replace a tailgate cable. One of those plus a cable and you're all set. Note that (at least on 2nd Gen) there are LEFT and RIGHT cables!

I bought a pair at the local O'Reilly's in the Help section a year ago. They're pretty commonly available.

I got mine at the stealership. If I remember right they weren't too badly priced.

About 4 years ago one of the originals broke, got 2 new at Pep Boys - Help Section - still hangin`

I got replacements for my 96 from LMC truck. Look a little closer. They have them for the 2nd Geners.
