it came fast, and i installed it yesterday. works awsome. i ran into one problem. may cable refused to stay tucked in and kept popping out. we finally figured out i had open close the tailgate a little and grab hold of the cable in a loop and squeeze towrds the inside of the bed to give the cable some memory so it would tend to bend inward when closing.

I have Gateglides on both my '91 & '03.



The '03 has a spray-in bedliner which makes the tailgate even heavier. Almost takes two hands to lift (close) the tailgate. Now, I can lift it with one finger, easily.



The tailgate does not slam down, now, either.



In my opinion, the Gateglide is a fantastic value. Great bang for your buck.

I installed one of these babies on my tailgate this weekend (about 20 minutes) and I couldn't be happier with it. This thing should be standard equipment! It even comes with all the torx drivers you need! Nice piece of equipment.

ROFLOL! :-laf I was thinking about ordering it, but I will wait until it has been out a little longer. The arms do work well based on my experience also. The bigger problem than lowering the tailgate is getting into the back of the truck after you lowered the tailgate.

For the last couple of weeks they had the price at $49 on their web site showing it as "Introductory Pricing" - it is now shown as $59. I bought mine from my dealer and paid the $59 price for it.

How much, if any assist is in the up mode? I have been thinking about the gateglide for better up assist but this piece looks nice.

Matt - it doesn't do any "up" assist from what I can tell - just controls the tailgate drop... just pop the tailgate latch and let it go...

It's $29. 95 and helps on both the up and the down. I like it because it's nearly invisible and doesn't take up any space in the bed at all. It works as advertised.
