2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission tail gate rod keepers part number?

I have a 95 2500 and the tail gate was getting dificult to open so I removed it and tore it down to see why. In the process I broke one of the plastic rod keepers that hold the rods that pull the latches. I tryied to get these from a dealer but they can't see them in the parts illustration and say they could come with the rods. The rods cost $20 each but don't know for sure that the clips come with them.



Does anyone know anything about this? Maybe a part number.

looks like the clips are attached to the handle and it's expensive.

Try these two numbers. One is right and one is left. They are Neon Door latch link retainers. Plastic part that rod goes through and then it clips to the rod. 4658674, 4658675. There are several other options, try a Kragen or Pep-Boys or whoever you have locally and check their "Help" section. That section has all kinds of small specialty parts for many different vehicles. Other option is a U-Pull wrecking yard. Almost all vehicles have the lock links and most use the same general type of connector.

Local Auto Parts Store...

Try looking in your local auto parts store. . i. e. Auto Zone, Advanced, O'Reillys in the section that carries the "HELP" packaged parts. Good chance what you're looking for is there if it's a common breakage item.

I found the clips at Auto Zone. There was a yellow clip in this package but now it's in my tail gate.
