I've read through the board and thought I had this solved but still no luck. Here's what I've got; no dash lights and no tail lights, blinkers, headlights and stop lights are fine. I've checked and replaced fuses, none of them where blown, I checked the dash fuses and under the hood as far as I know that's all of them.

Replaced the head light switch but not the cable as it looked ok, but I haven't checked beyond what plugs into the light switch. I assumed that the burning/melting would be on the switch side not under the dash.

I'm stumped and we are supposed to be leaving on vacation tonight with the trailer... :{

thanks for the help.

I have had the truck since new 130,000 miles. The last time the problem appeared the seat belt light was stuck on as well. I have read past posts and followed the other advise with the exception of replacing the headlight switch.

I've had some interesting problems with the electrical in my truck. I found wires that had burnt themselves together connecting to my aftermarket stereo head unit, which was screwing with my dash lights, head lights, clearance lights and tail lights. I've also had many other problems from my factory trailer connecter. Climb under the hitch at the back, and find the two connectors that go to your trailer connecter. Unplug them both, clean them up as best as you can, give them a nice shot of WD40, then plug them back in. Also, spray the actual connector where you plug your trailer into with some WD40. It's worth a shot, solved a lot of electrical craziness for me. Good luck & post back.

I had the same problem once. Mine was back at the wiring for the trailer. Some how the wires were sliced and it was crowded and grounding out each other. Take all the wire loom stuff off and check there.

Thanks for the ideas. Come to think of it it started th frist time I pulled my old Sled trailer. Thaks again for the info.
