Tail shaft seal I thought?

I thought I had a tail shaft seal leak untill I pulled it apart and It wasnt leaking from the seal but was leaking from the center of the u joint.

What seals the end of the slip yoke?

Nothing, best way to cure that is clean out the yoke real good (brake clean), then lay down a good deal of silicone into the end of it. Some will make a little cardboard disc also to squeeze in there, but mine have been fine with just the silicone . Once in a great while a spot weld is necessary to seal the hole up.
