Tailgate Badge

The red reflective portion of tailgate badge is all messed up. Called the dealer for a new piece and they wanted $ 600. 00!

What a joke. I pulled mine off as it was so ugly. Need to replace it with something similar. Any idea's or solutions? I'd like to find a replica of what was there. Can I buy the stuff somewhere and cut it to size? Approx. 66 1/2 x 3 7/8 inches.

Now that is a DRAG! I'd buy one of those but I need a tailgate. I saw a W350 today with his red strip missing and he spelled out

"A I R R I D E" there instead. Maybe I'll mask it off and spray paint it red. I 'd like it reflective though.

Hey, mine works that way, it is all steel. I actually like it better then the stock set-up (mostly because I've never had one ) because you can easily paint and repair dings and dents from working. I'll tell my Dad to take his strip off his W-250 and put it in a safe deposit box, he he

If you want it REAL reflective, go to your city sign shop and find out where they buy the red reflective tape from used to make STOP signs and the like. There is a company called SA-SO that sells that type of stuff. If you cannot find it with a Webferret search or such, I will try to find a catalog.

Look up police supply places on the internet(Galls is a good one), and look at the striping for police cars and emergency vehicles. You can get it in a lot of colors too. They could also make some reflective letters to spell out whatever you wanted.
