tailgate light bar

I did a search and didn't see anything about this. I would like to put one of the 60" light bars on back under tailgate. When I inspected the area, it looks like the spare tire ratchet hole is in the way. Has anyone installed one on these and is there room above the area where rod goes into ratchet hole. Thanks

I guess it depends upon the width (or technically height) of the light bar that you try to put there. 3" tall probably won't fit. 1/3" tall might fit.

I have the Fire and Ice light bar, it works fine and no issue for the spare tire crank. They now have peel and stick units that are only 1/4"-3/8" wide.

Did you hardwire it or did you plug it into the trailer receptacle?

I bought an in bed harness that plugs in behind the bumper trailer rececpticle and hard wired it to the harness.

Found one at e-trailer. Not cheap but should make the install simple..

Here is the front and back of my truck. The lights in the space under tailgate are Diode Dynamics, 12 inch LEDs, they look like one long light. I couldn't resist the fronts so I added it also. The circus is definitely coming to town, here.
