Tailgate Panel

Has anyone seen a nice looking way to customize the aluminum panel on the tailgate? Mine has a few dents in it and the red plastic top is showing wear. I looked into a new one at the stealer and they quoted me the price of one made out of gold. Well I figured it must have been made of gold because the price was over $400 dollars. LOL... Anyway, has anyone seen a neat way of fashioning a panel, or are there any aftermarket panels available? Are there some other options out there? I think it would be nice if there was a stainless panel with a dodge cut-out. I know there is a company here in Washington that does custom rocker panels and mud flaps but I have never seen a custom tailgate panel. Let me know what you have seen. At this point I am exploring all options as long as they are affordable and not tacky. I am looking for sharp, clean and affordable.

Mine was showing wear and I recently covered it with some 4 inch white reflective tape that I've had in the garage for years. My truck is black and my work requires me to be parked close to the road a lot. If you wanted to go this route, you could put any type of letters or silhouettes over it.

I saw a diamond-plate cover for the tailgate in JC Whitney / and / or Summit Racing. Don't know the price or fitment, but it sounds like the ticket if you want to dress it up. I'll check the catalog when I get a chance and PM you with the details.
