tailgate removal?

When I was doing the "bed liner" on my rockers I made a half ***** attempt at removing the tailgate, w/ the new torque assist it did not seem to want to come off.

I have ordered a real paper owners manual, but yet to receive it.

Am I missing something simple, was worried I might pull it off and have a spring go across my yard or twist it self out and not be able to get it back correctly.

Once you have the right side disengauged then you have to put the tailgate in the vertical position, almost latched. Then you can shift the tailgate to the right and disengauge the left side.

Where did you order a service manual from? A factory manual? Inquiring mines want to know.

Thank you, kind of what I thought, just didn't push my luck.
As for the manual, local dealership, I will post the info if I ever get it, few weeks now, still nothing
