you're lucky, the place i had it done sprayed over my bolts. i just bought a dremmel to try and grind it off.

Guess I am going to have to drop by a dealer lot and check out the spoiler tail gate myself. I must admit that I am not crazy about drilling holes but if it is done with care it should be ok.

I was at the dealer today "getting my fix" so I checked out the tailgate protectors.

They look pretty heavy. Then only cover down about 3/4" on the inside of the tailgate. One thing that jumped out was the fact the screws are installed from the outside and very visible.

I have line-x on the top of my tailgate. I wonder if this will present a problem with the fit on the tailgate spoiler? I don't think the line X will scrape off very easy!

I finally got mine put on. I dig it. It give you a better handle to shut the tailgate. Dang the metal is thin! Use a sharp bit a take your time. Mine was starting to dimple around the handle from shutting. They don't send the right size bolt for the inserts.

I recently installed the spoiler on mine. Spoiler=$64. 00, Hardware=$14. 00 And yes, they are some strange looking fasteners, not the bolts, they are just black hex head screws. The nuts are some kind of an expanding box type. Not sure why that matters either. I'm sure you could find hardware that would work just fine at any hardware store; save you the $14.



Overall, I love it so far, gives you an extra handle on the gate, and gives the tailgate a beefier look.



BTW, it uses 3M tape on the inside top edge. I have a spray-in liner and had no problems fitting it over the thickness of the liner on the inside of the tailgate.

I installed one on mine as gate protection.

I Sh-t canned the hardware that came with it and used standard bolts and nuts sealed with silicone.

Is there anyway around drilling holes? Would 3M tape hold the spoiler on?

I was thinking that, Home Depot has that same 3m tape that looks to be on every other accs you can get from Mopar, because I don't wanna drill unless I REALLY have to.

I guess you could 3M tape it on, but I wouldn't. You would still have the indentations in the spoiler where the screws are supposed to go. And, if I remember right, there isn't much surface for the tape to stick to anyway. The only flat spots on the tailgate side of the spoiler were where the screws install.



Don't worry about drilling, just use a new bit and measure twice; drill once. Like said above, use some silicone on the fasteners to keep out debris/water.



The whole thing installs in about 30 minutes.

I put one on my 06 2500 with spray in liner. Just used self tapping screws worked fine no problems at all
