A girl I work with had an aftermarket exhaust put on her new 600. She gave me the leftovers. I put the tailpipe from her 600 on my 91 this weekend. What a difference. I didn't know my pipe was partially crushed either. It fit like a glove and only took me about 20 minutes to install and weld up. I could tell a big difference immediately. I can't wait until I can get the rest of the exhaust done.

So you work with a girl that drives a Cummins AND has the upgraded exhaust installed

I don't think there are ANY girls in the mid-west that drive Cummins power let alone want an upgraded exhaust :-laf

Just my observation... ... .

Almost everybody down here drives a truck. There's nothing like good looking girls in big trucks, or was that big girls in good looking trucks? Oh well what's the difference? If my wife had her way, she'd be driving my truck and I'd be driving the Jetta. Her last two vehicles were 4 door duramaxes. She decided she wanted something with some power this time so she got the Jetta.

When I was in the midwest I noticed a real lack of diesel trucks... ... with the exception of that little park outside of Muncie on a paticular June weekend :-laf :D But seriously, I think there was only maybe 1 in 4 trucks with diesels, why is that? Around here you'll find a a diesel in probably 80% of the modern 2500-3500's. And I do know 1 girl that drives a diesel truck with a straight pipe, she's good looking but more of a man than I'll ever be

Hey, my little woman is looking into an upgraded exhaust for her Dakota. (She got the Dakota before she met me, so I couldnt talk her into a Cummins powered beast; plus you couldnt get a 97 for what she paid for her Dakota. ) She does say that she has more fun when we take my old beater, though. :D Bigger front seats, you know ;) Just a wait a little- MACH2s, intercooler, new head; I'll bring her around to the Dark Side yet.

SRadke- I, too, have noticed the lack of diesel power in the midwest. But then, if it aint a 350/454 (is there any real difference after driving a CTD?), it aint nothin around here. Quite a few PSDs and DMaxes around Cape and Jackson. Must be in the water.

My wife had pipes on the dakota she used to have, for christmas I'm getting her a flowmaster muffler for the durango she has now, SSHH don't tell, and if she had a diesel it would be straight piped, and big pipe at that! I have created a monster! :D Women love big trucks, loud pipes, they just need more training! :-laf

Anyways, what results did you have, better throttle response, more overall power, lower EGT's? What did you experiance?

So how was it getting pipe from a woman? :-laf Boy I hope I don't get thrown out for that one. :(

Daniel,

When we notice a nice looking truck that turns out to be a gasser, my wife's standard line is usually "His tailpipe is apparently functional, but Oh, so small. "

To which I reply, "I thought you said size doesn't matter!!"

:D

I think that is a prettty high percentage of diesels.

In the northeast, figure maybe 1 in 15 or 20 perhaps.

At least now I have my wife driving a diesel Jetta.

And she drive the boat sometimes. :D

Better response, lower egt, and about 4 lbs of boost. It really sounds and feels like a different truck.

I'm not touchiing that second question :-laf
