Anyone heard about the new conoco fuel additive

Trailer Life article ATS performance up grades

I dont think there is any cure for the G56 and sledpulling. Although shock dampening couldnt hurt anything.

it seems to me that the only thing failing with the g56's is the shaft with the gears on it. so why not make a billit shaft ad go sledpullin. i dont recall any other faliures other than that shaft and it sheering the gears off.

Thats what im thinkin Robert! There has to be something that can be done and i think that this clutch might be a BIG help with it and with a billet shaft as u spoke of we might be good to go! But i guess time will tell as with anything, and hey its a new transmission and things like this take some time to figure out.

Well this is the word on the new design...

Southbend clutch rocks!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well i recieved the new revised flywheel and installed it right away. All i can say is wow ( ). Once again the install was a breeze with no issues what so ever. I fired the beast up and took her for a little ride. Did another launch and a few speed shifts. This clutch is what i call smoooooooooooth. No chatter or bucking at all. I cant say enough about how quiet it is and how soft the pedal feels compared to the old style d/d. This new clutch is a 12cb with a 3250 plate load diaphram style with strapped center plate. The pedal lets out higher than the old D/D but not a objectional by any means. It actully feels like a duel stage clutch as you let the pedal out. That makes for a really smooth take off. Peter did say that the price should be about the same as the original D/Ds. Peter also said that they should be ready to ship out after the first of the year about the middle of January. Once again i would like to thank Peter and the crew for another great product and always striving to be ontop with there products and service.

Well, Peter is sending a new revised version to me. We have found a issue with the pressure plate that will be resolved very shortly. I will give you guys a update as soon as possible. I can however tell you that the drivaility is great. Still no noise and shifts like butter. Even with a ocational speed shift here and there.

SOUTHBEND DELIVERS!!!!!!!!!!! Oo. #ad

I got my latest revised pressure plate and assembly in last night. :D All I can say is "SHHHWEEEETTTTTT!!!" This thing is nothing short of awesome. Extremely quiet and hard to hear even on my 3rd gen engine. Shifting is as smooth as a single and the clutch pedal is so light it feels as soft as a stocker.

I could go on and on. It is just unbelievable how smooth it is. It is most definitley the best of both worlds. I can not wait to beat (oops I mean test) this one out. :-laf

Peter, my hat goes off to you once again for being on the cutting edge once again. Once again you have proven that some innovate while others duplicate. :D

<---------- total jealous of LMills once again... Guess I am glad I held off, cause I'm not a big guy, and a 3850lb plate load was looking a little un do-able. But maybe this will easy up on the pedal effort

Like I wasn't jealous of you while I was waiting for my modded pump and you were already putting yours thru it's paces!?!?!?!? LOL :-laf

On a side note, this one has the 3250 LB plate load like Brad also has. The previous one had the 3600 lb plate load but it felt almost just as good as stock also. I wouldn't be scared to use a 3600 LB load plate for street. Oo. :D

update

The first couple of clutches we has issues like not going into gear and being able to walk thru the clutch. The latest version that we came up with to hold the power is a 3600lb plate load and take off the center plate straps. The straps were holding the disk up aginst the pressure plate (dragging the disk upon clutch disengaugement) That in itself was making the clutch sticky to get into gear. Peter and i talked about different center plate installed heights. I feel assured we came up with a correct plate height. With all the issue being resolved i would have to say South Bend Clutch has a winner!! Oo. The driveability is great and shifts very smooth. I can assure you that the wait was worth its weight in gold.

Any updates? What is the ETA for this thing. I've got 130,000 on the stock clutch and it is still holding 85% of the stack I've got, but I know when I put in my Flux 2's and SPS62, my clutch will be out the door... . So, how long do I need to restrain myself from doing my other upgrades. Thanks Peter for striving to be the best in your field! My kind of business ethics!!

I don't want to hear it Tommy I'm 165lbs soaking wet and I've been driving a 3850 on the street everyday for nearly 4 yrs! :p :-laf

hahha - When you walk, do you always turn right? hahahaha

I just dont want to have to use BOTH feet when I need to shift :-laf

So are these going to be as durable as the originals as far as sledpulling? Or do you sacrifice a bit of that to have better street manners.

as you all know peter has been working tooth and nail on figuring out and building spring dampended DD clutch packages. i have been working with peter on this as well for my g56 setup. let me tell you this has all been a huge learning curve for myself in the technology of clutches. peter has spent every last hour with me in finding a setup that will not only work but be very polite and drivable. the clutch that i ended up liking is a DD with 3250 4 fingure type pressure plate. it has held up to all the abuse that i have thrown at it trouble free to date. it is very quiet and shifts as smooth as my old FE setup did. i can't say enough about peter and his crew especially his secretary mary who always got me threw to him and made sure everything was going to be shipped out. thank you peter and thank you SBC... ... ... ... . kyle
