Take each injector line out one at a time or with the Common Rail on 2007 5.9 CTD?

Hi. Maybe a dumb question.
I'm still going to change out my six injectors soon and was wondering methods of removing the injector feed lines out is quicker.
Method #1: I'm thinking I either take all six loose from injector nozzles and leave them connected to the Common Rail unit. Remove this as a unit after unbolting the works from the intake manifold.
Method #2: The other method would be just leave the Common Rail alone and remove each fuel line off individually as I do each injector. Just reinstall single line right after that injector is completed.
Method #3: I could also remove six feed lines and reinstall them after all six injectors are in. Common Rail still in place.
I've been planning on this for about a month but my shoulder rotator cuff has been a MAJOR problem lately. Thank you for any advice, Herb

Take all six out for easier access. You can leave the rail in place. Search "injector install with photos" when your ready.

you will require a cummins tool to remove the feed pipe to the injector as there is a locking nut there once youn have removed the locking nut you will need a puller to extract feed pipe from cylinder head as there are 2 small locating ball bearings on this pipe to locate into cylinder head

As Sag said, #3 above. I have always done it that way (see Issue 51 for example). I have never used a puller, just a small screwdriver when necessary to pry out the connector tube.

we do have a problem with a 2005 5'9 cummins that dosent want to start. fuel pump replaced and tested, injectors all good*No, 4 replaced, new fuel pump in tank,
we think we ve got ourselves a fuel delivery pressure issue. does anyone out there know if there is a leak off rail insert available for this engine? and if so where?

I have done a few without buying an special tools, have "modified" or built a few. The tag on the fuel line does tell you what # the line goes to. My offer to give you a hand is still open.

Hi. I have had three injector solenoids fail on my truck this year so far and they may be the originals at 165,000 miles. I have another set with low miles from a friend that upgraded to BBI injectors. I wish there was a way to tell if mine are the originals or not. I have a lady slipper tool to pull the injectors, Crow foot wrenches to do the feed tube removals/torques and a Torx tool to pull the feed tubes. I do see that the tubes last numbers are the cylinder numbers. The front four should be darn quick. The back two are the worry some. I have that insulator pad hanging down in the way. I ty-wrapped it to the wiring but it still hangs down. What does others do with it? Thanks, Herb

for the insulation , I've used some 3M spray glue & cut some wood wedges to hold in place. It's been about 3 months & still holding

I used a couple of self tapping metal screws with big diameter washers and screwed the insulation onto the firewall.
