takeing a silencer ring out of the turbo help please

were can i find the silencer ring in the turbo i have removed the hose from the air filter that leads to the turbo but cant find it... . or would i have to remove the turbo housing? everyone said it would be at the front of the turbo... all i see is the fan blades. . thanks. monte

I don't know what you are working on, please fill out your signature so we can tell, but a 1st Gen turbo has no silencer ring.

Your at the right spot. You should only have to take the stock intake tube off at the turbo and the air cleaner box ( this will give you room to work). The ring is just before the turbo blades. You'll see a thin chrome looking ring that is held in by a 1/4 x 1/4 retainer that goes around the turbo housing. Pop the retainer off with a small flat screw driver or a pick and the chrome ring will come right off.

rlyons is right, no silencer on the H1Cs of either vintage. The WH1Cs got them I think, along with the HX35.
