so after installing my new tps, i took the new one and put it in the tool box. but first i cleaned it real good and tried to take it apart. can someone explain EXACTLY how one takes this thing apart. thanks. scott.

Scott, I'm not sure it can be taken apart without breaking it, but I've haven't tried very hard because I didn't want a broken one. A favor though, if you take yours apart could you check for a good location to drill a small hole in it without damaging the innards? It would be great to have a hole for inserting an extension nozzle of electronic cleaner without removing the sensor. Squirting the cleaner in where the shaft comes out works good, but getting a good blast in would work better.

Piece of cake...

On the back of the TPS is an area that looks like the capital

letter D. I just took a Dremmel tool with a cut off wheel and

cut around the "D". DONT CUT TOO DEEP! Just deep enough

to cut through the material. Remove said piece and clean the contact area inside.

To replace the cut out piece, I placed the "D" back in the hole and used JB Weld to seal the "incision". Be careful to use just

enough JBW to seal but not drip down inside. Works great!!
