Ford 6.0 What A Joke.

Whats Up With The Commercial

They call that a new truck

Boy are they in denial. Here we go I'll rephrase some of the things I read in those posts.

Got my new truck today and it came with all the parts and instructions. I only had to go back to Furd a couple of times to have them help me assemble it. :--) :--)

Yup I've had no problems except for 3 ECM reflashes, one set of injectors replaced, installed an extra fan in the cab to help get rid of the diesel smell and I'm only getting 4 MPG less than what I used to get with the old 7. 3 :--) :--)

These guys are worried about having more drink holders than a Ram but don't seem to be too concerned about the "engineering nightmare" that's under their hood. I guess being brand loyal is ok as long as your willing to wrench on it more than you drive it.

This truck will be my first ever DC vehicle and for the last 18 years I've been driving Furds. I did my research and saw it was time to come to the DC side. They need to lay off the homemade Prozac and come out of their happy place and make decisions based on facts not fiction. Oo. Oo.

yep

Isn't that a fact... . Denile at it's best... . Funny thing is they have chased most of people with problems away, so now your not even getting a clear picture of the issues.

Ain't it WEIRD how the Ford and GM crowd do that!

Over in the DC groups, guys will openly cry over even the most MINOR issue, and guys will come running to hear about it and help find a solution - just as these groups SHOULD be... BUT over in those other makes, if ya don't provide a signed statement from the owner, along with his picture IN the affected truck while the dealership mechanic is actually working on it with the dealership sign clearly visible in the backround for verification, they will all shout "FAKE" and claim it's a rotten Dodge lie made up purely to cloud the "reputation" of their "fine and excellently designed" trucks - that in spite of the fact that some of THEM are in their third buy-back replacement trucks due to dozens of trips back to the dealer for new engines, trannies and various other defective parts...

SHEESH!

I used to spend some time over there reading the posts but I couldn't take it anymore. You are right, anyone who mentions a problem is branded as a troll and a liar. The only "help" provided by their members are statements such as "Ford is working on it" and "it's normal". I am so glad I don't own a Ford.

Whats amazing is how much time some of you spend poking around on Ford sites and then come over here and waste time posting about it. Believe me the Ford trucks are no where near as bad as you think or hope the are. :p :D

SHeesh is right... After being called a troll, kid, put down for being from Goldbar, WA, I mean really, I do still have all my teeth you know, post being deleted, yadda yadda yadda... . I even told them this site, TDR, is about SOLUTIONS. When a TDR member has an issue, it's usually a good time to go meet another TDR member and find a fix... . I mean really, since I have owned my Ram this site has taken ALL the wonder out of owning it. Brought new meaning to I'm my own warranty station... The Ford site? There are very few post that aren't just bragging about how the 6. 0L is so nice, I'd bet 80% of them never turned a wrench in there life. 6. 0L= Grocery getter, it's as far as I would trust it. Dodge Ram equals WORK truck. I would take it anywhere, anytime, any weather without fear.

SON, ya have it all wrong!;)

We go to Ford and GM websites because MANY, if not MOST of us have happily owned that stuff in the past (and MIGHT own another in the future!)- and still have warm memories of our time spent behind the wheel - or sometimes, even under the hood, just as we do with our DC stuff!

I've owned and driven FAR more Ford and GM vehicles than I ever will any DC stuff - and with absolutely NO regrets. Sure, I had the ocassional failures and breakdowns - as we will with ANY brand, and sure, some had known weaknesses that once recognized were usually easily either corrected or at least watched for...

Pretty much like my current '02 Dodge!;)

What we DO have problems with, is the pure unabashed, foaming at the mouth brand loyalty that seemingly blinds a large number of occupants of those other boards to deal with reported KNOWN problems in a reasonable and productive manner - and *I* would have JUST as big a problem with Dodge owners doing that in THIS group - it's simply foolish and illogical!

In those other forums, I have expressed my personal feeling that this country deeply NEEDS the good health and financial stability of our 3 remaining auto makers - and every time Ford or GM successfully raise the bar by putting out a superior product, Dodge owners ALSO benefit as DC is forced to put out a better one as well to stay competitive!

But sticking our heads in the sand over well known shortcomings and weakness is VERY counter productive, and ROBS the troubled owner of EXACTLY the help he is frequently coming to groups like this to obtain... ;)

And THAT is what we find so mind-boggling in those other forums, and brings us back here shaking our heads in disbelief!

Well you know the saying "there is strength in numbers". That is wath theye remind be of, they are all trying to tell each other it willlbe ok, and at the same time worried sick that there truck will not start tomarrow. The month before last there was an article in Four Wheel magazine about how many ford owners have stuck with Ford thru this time of hardship. Then this month they run a 6. 0L build-up issue, what to bolt-on for extra ponnies. Right, who in there right mind would do anything that might void your warranty on a 6. 0L?? I bet Ford wishes they would do as the article suggest, look how much money Ford would save. There is no doubt that Ford Paid for thoes ARTICLES/ADDS. Ford is in a real hurt, they were in a huge bind for money before this 6. oL came out. Fact is they were hopping this new engine combo would pull them out of their problems, but that has been anything but the case. Ford is in a huge bind, and it there name was anything except FORD, they would have already been forced to claim bankruptcy. I do not want to see them go down, way to many people depend on them for a living, but at the same time, I could not buy a Ford diesel truck to help them out. Their future rest on how well the new F-150 does, and how the re-designed Mustage will do.

I like the looks of the new F-150. Don't know how strong it is underneith, but it sure does look nice. And I drool over the interior! I'd be willing to bet that F-150 will save Ford.

I sure am glad that these guys do read up on the competition. And then let us know what they find. I like to laugh out loud :D . And besides. if they did'nt share this stuff with us I might have been tempted to buy a Ford:eek: But now I know better. GM is definitely out of the question. :D

Waste of time is a matter of opinion.

"Whats amazing is how much time some of you spend poking around on Ford sites and then come over here and waste time posting about it. Believe me the Ford trucks are no where near as bad as you think or hope the are. " Please define "Waste of time. " It's our business what we look at, and we decide if it's a waste of time! And you do the same if you want to read about it. This isn't a captive audience and these messages aren't SPAM. I just find it simply amazing that folks are so brand loyal thet they can't admit when there is a problem.

Get out your underwear with the blue oval!

I go over there just for a good laugh. These guys are so brand loyal that they can't even tell that the underwear with the blue oval they have on is giving them one hell of a wedgie!!!!:D

One guy is on his third 6-point-oh-no in less than 5,000 miles total! "It was the best truck out there, but then... ... . " I could care less if this is only 0. 01% of the group. What gets me is, what kind of person puts up with this?!? What kind of person says their brand of vehicle is the best, when they are on there second (or third) truck in a year because their brand had to buy back their first one?

True, the people with problems are probably (and should be) the minority over there. But the above mentioned mentality is the majority!

Here is another good one.

I love how everyone immediately stomps on the guy for saying something bad.

I guess when you hear nothing but bad news all the time, it gets old, so you just flog whomever is bearing it. This is in contrast to here, where bad news is less prolific, so we all deal with it in a positive, supportive, constructive way.
