VW Passat TDI ?

Just Saw a WWII Half Track with a 6BT in her!

I guess GM is going to up the programming on the new LLY to keep up with the Cummins-Jones' . :D At least that's what they're saying over on thedieselpage.com DMAX forum. And some minor sheetmetal changes to the grille/hood to differentiate the HD trucks from the half-tons.

i thought it was already released to the press that the new lly will be 590ft/lbs?

as for the sheetmetal... ??? but when the first chevy HD's came around they had that powerdome hood that was different than the 1500's and the grill was a little different

LLY 590

Everybody knows about the LLY and 590 Ft Lbs but to go one up on the competition they're going to raise it to 605 supposedly soon. I'm sure the engineers at GM Powertrain have a way to go with the current setup before it's optimized. That way marketing will be happy to bump it up a little more to keep up with Dodge and Ford. Surely next it will be 325/625? Who knows. The LLY DMAX has been out a few months now. I test drove one about 4 months ago! It had the EGR and a catalytic converter. The SPID options sticker in the glovebox will have LLY for the 310/590 or LB7 for the early 300/520 version.

The diesel performance battle rages on! :p

The powerdome hood went away for some reason and a bunch of people must have complained. It's only going to be back on the Chevy Silverado trucks, but the GMCs are going to keep using the same hood and grille.

Oh yeah, well I heard cummins is upping theirs to 610lb ft starting friday.

I wonder why they waited. They have to reapply thru the epa. So they sent the same truck through twice for 15lb ft. Doesnt seem right to me. Sounds like wishful thinking.

Meanwhile ford is bringing up the rear on torque. The place they said they would never be again. Hmm. I think they are shooting for 330hp by fall.

This is fun, watching them fight for market share. They should all just give up cause cummins is gonna win in the end. They have to see it coming.
