Talking about commercials

New Tiger Woods game !!

My my my, poor Swift !

Have you seen the Audi "diesel" commercial. Now why couldn't Dodge (Chrysler LLC) come up with a commercial like that for Dodges with the almighty Cummins engine.

Especially since it made emission standard's three years before it had to.

Because as usual, Dodge, Chrysler, RAM, or whomever you are actually talking about here went with the cheapest source... you know,. . like most of the parts in our trucks.

Oh they came up with the Silly

My Name is RAM and my Tank is full CROPOLA..... I guess that's what it takes to sell Hemi's... ... ... ..... They could give a "rat's cahoot" about Diesel's... .

I did see the ad and I have to concur it's about the worst I've ever seen. Hopefully the trucks will sell in spite of the advertising.

Well its not like the Cummins diesel pickups get great mileage anymore. My friends new 6. 7L 2500 BlueTec Diesel (or whatever its called... as if they needed a gimmick name for the Cummins) gets crap-ola MPG's. He complains about it all the time to me. Dealer says "oh... thats what they get" and pushes him out the door. He listened to me brag about diesel MPG's for years... only to spend $40,000 to find out how the clean air nut jobs want to save the planet by burning even MORE FUEL!!!

Anyhoo... its unlikely any of them will sell good no matter the commercials. When has Dodge ever outsold Ford or Chevy trucks. Or anything?

When are any of them going to have commercials that have the truck just sitting there, and a normal looking guy walking around it showing the features that make it better than anyone else? Like a real commercial giving true information. Rather than one that shows a car blazing down a computer created imaginary mountain road, full of college age rock climbing hikers, and some loud techno rock music on volume 10... then describe how the new "this or that" car/truck has a MP3 player and navigation built in sound system?

Why not show a normal guy telling the camera he gets good MPG's, great reliability, and show him load it up with firewood and drive out across a farm field. The stuff real people do.

I mean... when are car commercials going to go to reality based? Like everything on TV now. They'd be cheaper to do anyhow.

Your age is showing. They gave up on us "old" folks and make their commericals for the "kids". They must think we all ran out of money. Everytime one of those loud commericals come on I wear out the mute button!!!!!!!

Ford more-or-less did exactly this with their "Truth about Trucks" campaign a few years ago. It has since been pulled from their website (at least, I couldn't find it).

Not sure how successful it was. And it wasn't used on television.

I remember many years ago there was a Ram commercial where a 3500 is carrying another 3500 in the bed and towing 2 more behind it. At idle.

I thought that was a pretty cool commercial for the diesel.
