TLC and 5 Star ratings are just a gimick to get you into the dealerships for service.
If respecting the customer and supporting the product after the purchase as Acura does is a gimmick, well just call me a sucker!

Surveys

My brother is a car salesman. Those surveys really do mean a lot, and YES they actually do read them.

Salesmans bonus' are based in large part on these surveys.

I cant speak for the service dept, but I cant imagine it being that much different.

Rusty, I wouldn't be satisfied with inferior service. Though it seems to be prevelent (bad service), most every place I go. I am basically down to a few resturaunts and stores that I frequent, and my mom and pop Dodge dealer. Some days its seems that people bend over backwards to be rude to the public. I have worked in customer service and owned a couple of businesses. This is the main reason I own my solo trucking company, it is me myself and I. I am tired of dealing with the public, vendors etc. The motoring public makes up for it though, where did they all learn how to drive? And where did they all come from? On second thought, I can see why the service writers have such a short fuse. :D

NJ Dodge Dealer

NJ Tackle:

Go down to Manahawkin Dodge on 72. John Pendleton is the diesel mechanic there and he's great. He did the BOMBs on my previous truck and is AOK with them. Just don't tell Jim, the Service Manager, about them; he's a real AH. If you see John, he'll remember the grey '95 that we took from 160HP to 350!

I used to live next door to a Professor who taught a marketing course to M. BAs. She told me most surveys are not anonymous but have your name encoded somewhere. It could be a bar-code, a unique number or even an ultra-violet dye used to provide an invisible code.

Knowing this for years hasn't changed my opinion on these forms but it does give me a heads-up as to who is reading them.

This subject is a real kicker. Any dealership that abuses a customer because they complain is one that deserves to go out of business: they have forgotten who is actually paying their salaries!

I'm lucky I have a great dealership. They just installed my remote starter. Two hours after I picked it up I was back in their shop because they had used electrical tape on the connections. I left 20 minutes later and all the joins were heat-shrinked. The Shop Manager apologized and said that the tape didn't meet his standards either and they normally didn't do that. I am an incredible PITA when it comes to that sort of detail and my shop humors me on everything. In return I bought a maxed out truck from them. That is the reward for good service. I was sorely tempted by the Duramax but I wanted that level of service.

Thanks for letting me vent. I hope NJTackle gets taken care of properly by a good dealership. They are out there!

Just got back from Tallys,I have to say they treated me great, they installed a new steering wheel, and ordered me 4 new ball joints and said they would have a rental car for me when they will be installed.
