Want to modify my tank/pick up module on my 2001 QC after installing a FASS so that FASS will run more efficiently.

How many bolts hold the bed on? I only see four ( two front that are attached to a bracket and two rear that run through the frame?).

After the fronts are removed and rear loosened I was gonna just tilt the front of the bed up with a floor jack and 2x4.

When removing the tank module my factory shop manual advises that the gasket needs to be replaced every time. Can this gasket be re-used? or can it be bought seperately?

Any other info will be greatly appreciated.

What else can be done to the module to make it flow better, other then remove the screen mesh on the intake?

Thanks

J,

I just went through the bed lifting twice this weekend on my 97. There are 8 bolts total holding it down to the frame, 4 in front and 4 in the rear. There is also a ground strap on the pass side. Last of all you need to disconnect the screws that hold the filler neck under the door where you fill the tank. Don't forget to put wood under the bed for extra support in case of the jack failing!

Regarding the gasket, I re-used the same gasket even though they gave me a new one. It was in good shape. I will tell you that I had to lift the bed a second time cause when I put the gasket back in it wasn't seated correctly and I had a real nice leak.

I found the best way to put the gasket back in is to seat it in the opening of the tank first and then drop the module back in, but make sure it doesn't slip off the top edge of the tank or you will get a leak.

Hope this helps.
