Its a 2001, the front driveshaft should not be spinning when you are in 2wd. If there is a vibration in 2wd, you need to adjust (shim) your rear axle to get the proper pinion angle. The indexing ring will not help with that. It ONLY affects the front driveshaft. If it is a 4wd issue only, then yes, the indexing ring will help. My truck has 7. 5" of lift and the driveshaft in front was almost unuseable because of the operating angle. I had Driveline Service of Sacramento "clearance" my c/v joint in the front so it wouldn't knock against itself in rotation. Now I can use 4wd with no issue.
